Pupils make do and mend

As part of learning about World War II and “make, do and mend”, the P7 pupils at Hill of Banchory have been learning to knit.

Members of the local community visited the school to teach the children basic knitting skills and some pupils have managed to develop this further and can now purl too!

With the help of local woman Margaret Owen they created a blanket from all their knitted squares.

On Thursday, December 11, the pupils took part in Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children.

Everyone got into the Christmas spirit and raised over £325 for Save the Children.
