Banchory Primary School is looking for help to fund the installation of play equipment

Banchory Primary School is seeking your votes to help it fund the installation of play equipment.

The school has been successful in its application for funding from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme and is set to get a minimum of £8,000.

However, larger pots of £12,000 and £10,000 are up for grabs with the project with the most votes getting the largest donation.

Pupils and staff are now asking friends, family and the general public to get behind them and support the project by placing a plastic token they receive from their shop in Tesco in the ‘Banchory Primary School’ box.

Commenting on the scheme, a spokesperson for the school said: “The project at the school will enhance the outdoor environment experience for all children.

“While we are fortunate at Banchory Primary School in having access to large open spaces, much of the existing play equipment is designed for use by the younger children.

“The older children have been involved in the selection of the new equipment and in identifying the best location within the school grounds.

“Equipment has been selected to promote physical fitness and offer quieter activities for those who prefer a different challenge.

“Securing the top award of £12,000 from Tesco would give us the opportunity to fulfil our vision for outdoor learning at Banchory Primary School.

“Pleae vote Banchory Primary School in store in Tesco next time you do your weekly shop.”

Vote ends November 13.
