Cults Academy schoolboy Bailey Gwynne is being remembered on the anniversary of his death.

Bailey, 16, died on October 28 last year after being stabbed by a fellow pupil.

His 16-year-old killer, who cannot be named, was detained for nine years after being found guilty of culpable homicide.

A special assembly is being held at the school to allow pupils to reflect on the tragedy.

A recently published report into Bailey’s death found that the stabbing had been “potentially predictable and avoidable” if others who knew the killer took weapons to school had reported it to staff.

The review, conducted by child protection expert Andrew Lowe, recommended that teachers should have more powers to search pupils.
