A temporary road has opened in Upper Deeside after a section of the A93 route was swept away in recent flooding.

The affected part near Ballater collapsed when the River Dee overflowed during Storm Frank in early January.

It meant motorists had to take an alternative route via the B976 South Deeside Road between Ballater and Crathie.

The temporary section was opened to all traffic at 3pm on Sunday.
