Ballater is preparing to welcome athletes, pipers, dancers and the immensely impressive Heavy Athletes to this year’s Ballater Highland Games which will take place on Thursday 13 August at Monaltrie Park.

The Deeside & Donside Piper and Herald have teamed up with Glenfiddich, sponsor of the Heavy Events at Ballater Highland Games, to give readers the chance to raise a glass to this year’s celebrations with three specially labelled bottles of Glenfiddich 12 year old single malt to be won.

This year’s Games competitions will commence at around 11am and continue until approximately 5.00pm.

Glenfiddich began supporting the heavy athletics element of the Games over 30 years ago in 1983 and the whisky’s support enables Ballater Games to provide prize money for the attending athletes.

In addition, Ballater Highland Games forms part of the Glenfiddich Grampian Games Championship – a series of twelve events that take place throughout the summer in which athletes accrue points towards winning the overall Glenfiddich Championship titles.

For a chance to win a 70cl bottle of Glenfiddich 12 Year Old single malt, carrying a special label to commemorate the 2015 Ballater Highland Games, just answer the following question:

For exactly how many years has Glenfiddich been sponsoring Highland Games?
