As part of their class assembly highlighting World Food Day, the pupils in P5/6 at Hill of Banchory School organised a food collection for local charity Aberdeenshire South Foodbank.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of the children and the generosity of their parents the collection proved hugely successful collection.

The donations collected will benefit people in Deeside and further afield in difficult times.

donations co-ordinator Fiona Graham told the Hill of Banchory children that since the charity opened in June 2013 ,they have provided three days’ worth of food to over 830 people, including over 350 children living in the Aberdeenshire area from Braemar to Inverbervie.
