Snow lying on the ground, mistletoe, turkey with all the trimmings, mulled wine and mince pies; there are some things that you need to have a classic Christmas and at the very top of that list is a classic Christmas movie and a celebration with friends.
Woodend Barn is getting into the Christmas spirit with some festive favourites and a very special night of music from one of Scotland’s greatest record labels - Chemikal Underground, the legendary Glasgow record label responsible for Arab Strap, the Delgados and Mogwai.
They are bringing three of their finest artists upto Banchory for a Chemikal Christmas on Friday, December 14.
Emma Pollock, R M Hubbert and Adrian Crowley will be showing why Chemikal Underground are still releasing some of the best new music in the UK and helping Woodend Barn celebrate a great year in style.
Next week, Woodend Barn continues their Christmas film season with a pair of contemporary festive favourites, Die Hard and Elf – voted number one and number three in the Empire Magazine list of the greatest Christmas films of all time.
Seen by many as one of the great action movies, Die Hard sees Detective John McLane visit his estranged wife for Christmas just as terrorists take over the building.
Can he save the day and find out why the terrorists are there? Die Hard is showing on Wednesday, December 19.
Elf sees Will Ferrell playing Buddy the Elf, a human raised at the North Pole as an elf trying to find out who he really is in New York at Christmas.
Elf is a hilarious Christmas treat for the whole family and is showing on Thursday, December 27.
Tickets for all events can be obtained from www.woodendbarn.co.uk or by calling the Banchory box office on 01330 825431
