A final call for entries for this year’s Thainstone Spectacular has been made before the closing deadline of Friday, August 17.
The Aberdeen & Northern Marts event will be held on September 5 and is regarded as Scotland’s leading show and sale of weaned calves and store cattle suitable for further exhibition purposes.
It will feature many of the top prize winners from the summer show circuit and draws buyers from all over the UK to the Thainstone Centre at Inverurie with the cattle purchased there going on to collect top awards at the Christmas prime stock shows or summer shows the following year.
This year’s judges will be Kenny Veitch, Drumlone, Lisbellaw, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, for heifers while Paul Barwood, Grange Farm, Fleggburgh, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, will place the steers. Both will join together to select the overall champion.
Photographs of the entries can be seen before the event on the ANM Group website, anmgroup.co.uk/marts.
