A group of school children from Finzean Primary visited a development in Aboyne last month to learn about construction sites.

The 16 pupils went to Bancon Homes’s Kemsley View, donning hi-vis jackets and hard hats to be shown the construction site and the show home to learn how it’s all built.

The children, aged between five and six, have been working on a school project about houses, and the trip was to complement this project.

Mrs Jamieson, one of the teachers, said: “Building sites are facinating places for everyone - especially young people - so we are very grateful to Bancon Homes for allowing the children to see what happens on site.

“This is a great way for the children to learn about the construction process and fits in perfectly with our project on houses where we have been learning about all different types of housing.

“They got to see safely what goes on behind the scenes when new homes are being built. It was a fabulous experience for them.”

Julie Goddard, who does sales and marketing at Bancon Homes and accompanied the children on their visit, said: “We were delighted to be able to show the children around our development at Kemsley View.

“We are always very keen to support the local communities in which we have our sites, such as Kemsley View and the Finzean Primary School visit provided the children with a great opportunity to learn more about the different aspects of construction for their school project.”
