HOOT- flute and harp duo- will be playing at the Victory Hall in Aboyne at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 19.
Emma Wilkins (flute) and Helen MacLeod (harp) were the recipients of the 2008-2010 Enterprise Music Scotland residency project. In conjunction with this residency, they released their first album ‘The Garden of Adonis’ at the 2010 Edinburgh harp festival to critical acclaim. Based in Glasgow, they have performed all over Scotland including at St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall.
They will be performing works by Lutoslawski, Massenet, Piazzolla, and Adrian Shaposhnikov’s Sonata for flute and harp.
Education and music therapy play an important role for HOOT, and they will be giving workshops both at Tarland primary school and Aboyne Academy while they are up in Aberdeenshire. These are funded jointly by Strathdee Music Club and Enterprise Music Scotland.
Strathdee Music club are delighted to welcome people to this concert and provide refreshments afterwards. Tickets are priced £12 (£10 for members) and under 18s are free.
Tickets available at the door on the night.
