The fascinating world of mushrooms, toadstools and other fungi will be explored on a walk aimed at adults and older children at the National Trust for Scotland’s Crathes Castle, Garden and Estate next Tuesday (September 11).
On a guided walk around the property’s grounds, visitors will learn about many aspects of fungal fact and fiction, from species identification to folklore.
The event is aimed as an introduction to the topic.
Fiona Milne, Senior Ranger for Crathes Castle, Garden and Estate said:“There are all kinds of fungi to be seen around the woods at this time of year- from familiar mushrooms to far more unusual things. I’m sure all who come on the walk will be fascinated by just how much can be seen outside once you begin to look for it.”
The walk runs from 10:30 to 12:30, starting at the Ticket and Information kiosk and ending in the properties car park.
Tickets cost £3 for children and £5 for adults.
