Pupils from 10 local primary schools took part in a Badminton Sportshall Challenge, organised by Active Schools Aberdeenshire at Aboyne Academy.

The event aimed to give P3, P4 and P5 pupils a fun and competitive introduction to badminton and improve and develop movement skills required for all sports ie. running, jumping, balancing, and hand-eye coordination.

Braemar Primary School were the winners and Lumphanan Primary School were runners-up. Both schools are now invited to the regional event to be held in Banchory Sports Centre on May 5, where they will be joined by teams from Marykirk, Laurencekirk, Mill O’Forest, Catterline and Banchory primary schools.
