A former Banchory Academy pupil is celebrating after winning a prestigious award for the second time from international travel company, Travel Counsellors.

Aberdeen-based travel specialist Jeremy Wilson, was presented with the 2011 “Best Business Increase” award in recognition of his hard work and dedication to providing his customers with the highest levels of personal service when booking their travel arrangements.

As one of just 20 out of 1,100 agents to be presented with an award at the Travel Counsellors annual conference in Birmingham last month, Jeremy added a second trophy to his collection in recognition of two consecutive successful years for his travel business.

Jeremy, who was raised in Banchory, was given the impressive title by guest presenter and TV personality Amanda Lamb at a glittering awards ceremony during the conference.

Jeremy said: “I am delighted to have won such a prestigious award for two years running. Using the cutting-edge technology provided by Travel Counsellors, I can source the very best travel options for my customers, many of which simply aren’t available on the high street or on the web. I think my customers really appreciate the level of service and attention to detail I can offer by running my own travel business with the support of Travel Counsellors.”

During his time at the conference, Jeremy joined his Travel Counsellor colleagues from across the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, South Africa and the Netherlands, including his fellow business partner Maaret Edwards. The event also saw over 160 travel suppliers exhibiting at a dedicated assembly where Jeremy met representatives from a host of tourist boards, hotels and airlines to learn more about their products and destinations, to share the latest information and advice with customers.
