Various activities were held in Deeside recently as part of Guide Dogs Week.

Guide dog owner Mary Rasmussen, a former Banchory Primary School teacher, was out and about in the area with her German Shepherd, Nelson, visiting Beaver, Rainbow and Cub groups and Rotary Clubs.

She also walked the Deeside Way as far as Kincardine O’Neil.

Mary, chair of Aberdeen branch of Guide Dogs, and Nelson attended a JogScotland Rosemount event in the city to kick-start Guide Dogs week, which had the theme Move it for Money to help raise money for the organisation.

Runners travelled the distance puppies are taken from Forfar to the North-east to begin their training.

Puppy walkers in Deeside are based in Durris, Banchory, Milltimber, Aboyne and Ballater.
