The Rotary Club of Aboyne and Upper Deeside met for the formal handover to the new club officers for the Rotary year 2012-2013.

The meeting was held as part of a social evening for members and guests in the Commercial Hotel in Tarland.

Gordon Riddler, club president for 2011-2012, outlined the achievements of the club during his year in office and thanked all the members and partners for their support and effort.

This included help for local groups, working with schools and fundraising for charities and other worthy causes – locally and internationally.

He formally handed over to incoming president, Doug Riach.

Doug referred to the plans that have been developed by the club for the coming year to continue their good work, further develop the club and actively recruit new members to replace those who have retired.

He said: “It’s an honour to be president for a club that does so much. I look forward to welcoming more new members and supporting the club to go from strength to strength.”
