A second Cults-Culter area care facility for the elderly has announced completion of part of a massive buildings refurbishment scheme, following a recent similar announcement by one in Bieldside.

Now well-known Rowan Court Care Home in Cults, a three floor, 64-bedroom facility on North Deeside Road, has completed the first phase of a multi-million pound refurbishment.

This exciting project is breathing new life into the home.

Owned by family-run business Deeside Care LLP since 2013, the site was originally a hotel till it became part of Cults’ history around 30 years ago when the building was destroyed in a devastating gas explosion.

The site eventually saw the construction of the Rowan Court home.

Current general manager Karen Ewen said: “This exciting project is breathing new life into the home and will further enhance the facilities we offer to residents and their families, as well as giving our staff a better working environment.”

Deeside Care are now investing £3 million in refurbishing the suburban facility.

Phase one has focused on the high quality rejuvenation of residents’ lounges, dining rooms and some bedrooms, whilst the ambitious second phase will see work focus on upgrading the remaining bedrooms as well as the creation of a stunning new entrance atrium, spa, cinema and cafe.
