The committee of Banchory Heritage Society would like to invite all members of the society and any prospective new members to the ‘Welcome All’ opening night of the season, which will take place on Monday, October 29 at the St Ternan Episcopal Church Hall.
Doors will open at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start. The meetings are open to visitors too. Membership is £5 for full membership, £3 for concessions, visitors are asked for a small donation towards the refreshments. Society treasurer, Duncan Menzies will be available to take subscriptions.
Anne Lamb, the current convenor, will be standing down this season and the society will need a new convenor to take it through to next year. Mrs Lamb said: “I have a very strong committee and a lot of willing and reliable helpers who have supported me over the last few years, so anyone who offers to be convenor will have some enthusiastic and knowledgeable people to rely on. I have really enjoyed my time and it is heartening to see so much interest in our local heritage and culture both from local people and those who have chosen to make this part of the Dee valley their home.”
A letter with membership forms and other information will be going out this week. Forms will also be available in Banchory Museum and Banchory Library from October 1. For more dtails contact BanchoryHeritage@aol.com or call 01330 822105.
