‘Keep supporting book sales’ plea

Banchory Lions Club is holding its regular monthly bookstall in Banchory Town Hall, between 10am and noon on Saturday, July 7.

This is a regular fundraising event and last year, the group raised more than £2,600 from the sale of books.

Funds raised are used to help individuals, groups, the able and the disabled, mainly in the local community but sometimes national and international projects supported by Lions Clubs International.

Pat Green, who has been club president for the last two years, thanked all those who had supported the club during that time, club members who donated their help and time to those who need edit and those who attended the book sales.

“I have now handed over the presidency to Margaret Ward, but the rest of the team continues with Anne Lamb as secretary and Irene Bews as treasurer - Banchory Lions Club is in good hands!” she said.

Book sales will continue each month and quizzes are planned for the coming months. For more information about Lions Clubs International, Banchory Lions Club or membership information, ask any Lion or call (01330) 823795.
