Leader chooses charity

Aberdeenshire Council Leader, Councillor Jim Gifford, presented a Christmas donation of £1,500 to the Cornerstone charity.

Cllr Gifford chose Cornerstone as this year’s charity to receive a Christmas donation.

The cheque was presented by Cllr Gifford to Jayne Findlay, Regional Director for North Scotland, at the Cornerstone office in Aberdeen.

Cornerstone is one of Scotland’s largest charities and is a leading provider of services for people with disabilities and other support needs.

The charity provides care and support for more than 1,700 people each year, offering a wide range of services including supported living and residential care, employment services and short breaks and respite.

Cllr Gifford said: “I am delighted to be able to support Cornerstone and to recognise the invaluable work done by the charity.”
