Banchory Horticultural Society’s Open Gardens event is being held on the weekend of August 4 and 5, from 2pm to 5pm each day.
Three gardens will be open to the public: 20 Burnett Road and The island, Waters of Feugh, are open on Saturday whilst Mallamauch House at Maryfield Farm and 20 Burnett Road are open on Sunday. Woodend allotments at Woodend Barn will also be open to the public on the Saturday.
Entry is £1 per person per visit, and each garden will display balloons at the entrance for ease of identification. Refreshments will be available. All profits will be donated to local good causes.
A spokesman said: “We are very grateful to the gardeners for taking part. It is always fascinating to see how varied the local gardens are and how much effort is put in to looking after them. Although we are called a Horticultural Society, we are not terribly cultural and certainly not haughty. We always welcome new members!”
The full weekend programme is available from Raemoir Garden Centre, Banchory Library and Banchory Tourist office.
