Businesswomen beating downturn
Two Torphins mums and businesswomen have combined their efforts in time for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day to promote each other’s businesses.
Suzanne Edge, who owns the portrait photography business Edge Photography, and Emma Pattullo, of the pottery and coffee house Platform 22, both live and work in the village.
“Torphins is not on the main road along Deeside, but has some great services to offer visitors” said Suzanne. “When people come for a portrait sitting with me, we will treat them to a complimentary coffee and a cake from Platform 22.
It gives them an excuse to stay a little longer.
“Everyone is noticing the economic downturn, especially smaller out-of-town businesses,” said Emma, who runs Platform 22 with husband, David. “It would be crazy not to bring our ideas together and help each other, as well as reminding others of the great family-run local services on offer in such a beautiful place.”
Over the next few weeks, with Valentine’s Day and Mother’s day just around the corner, visitors to Platform 22 will have a chance to win a portrait sessions which will include a family sitting and a 10x8 print from Edge Photography.
For more information about the giveaways, visit the Edge Photography website at www.suzanneedge.co.uk or call Suzanne on (013398) 89275 or Emma at Platform 22 on (013398) 82039.
