Former Banchory St Ternan squad member Craig Simpson is enjoying Highland League success after signing for Banff’s Deveronvale FC.
Saturday’s fixture with Strathspey saw him open the scoring minutes after the half-hour with a super solo strike after the struggling home side had passed up two great chances to open the scoring themselves.
Craig’s father, Douglas said: “Craig always trained hard at St Ternan. It’s great to see him doing well and it proves that youngsters don’t have to play in city teams to get noticed and to get into the leagues. If they’re good enough, they’ll get a chance, no matter where they play.”
Late goals in the 4-0 victory came from Graeme Rodger and subs Robert Morrice and Tom Hutchison.
