Going quackers about good causes

The Ballater Victoria Duck Race 2014 promises to be truly quackers, with some exciting twists aimed at bringing some unifying competitive spirit to the Deeside village, while raising a whole lot of cash for local good causes.

Plus there’s a top prize of £250 for the winning ticket-holder, and even a little divine intervention on the cards with the Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney wading into the river to bless the ducks!

Tickets are now available to buy across the village, in plenty of time for the August 17 extravaganza.

Eight duck ticket colours are available to purchase, each one supporting and raising cash for a different local group or charity. They are as follows:

Dark Blue – Ballater School, Red – Charitable Chiels (for BVW), Light Blue – Deeside Cats Protection, Pink – CLAN, White – St Kentigern’s Church’s White Ducks of Peace, Green – Ballater Royal Horticultural Society, Ninjas – BVW, Purple – Victoria and Albert Halls.
