FOUR Polish women said they were "terrified" after seeing an unidentified flying object in the skies above Banchory.
Magda Wasewicz, Monika Lowkiet, Renata Wasewicz and Jwona Fitek spotted an orange object moving quickly in the sky at around 10.30pm on Saturday, August 28.
Quick-thinking Monika made a one-minute long video of the object, which stayed in the sky for around ten minutes. The four women have been living in Banchory whilst working at Deeside Cleaners on Bridge Street for the past four years.
Monika said: "At first I thought it was a balloon but then I noticed it wasn't moving in the same way as a balloon does. It was very quick and darting vertically, horizontally and diagonally. It was moving about far too freely to be a plane, I wasn't sure what it was."
Renata said: "I have never seen anything like it before. I thought it may have been some kind of army experiment. It was just so strange."
Magda, Renata's daughter, added: "It was very scary, especially at the end when it disappeared. It stopped still then soared straight into the sky. I was terrified - I thought they were coming to get us!"
The sighting comes only a couple of months after Banchory resident Courtney Gilchrist saw a similarly strange object in the sky.
Grampian Police said they had received no reports of UFO sightings in or around Banchory on August 28.
