Budding Deeside photographers could have their chance to blossom as the Torphins Flower Show introduces a new exhibition.
This year’s horticultural extravaganza will see the introduction of a new photographic section.
Flower and vegetable gardening has always been popular, but participation in craft and hobby activities is also increasing.
Recognising this, the show committee introduced the new photography section.
Torphins Horticultural and Industrial Society vice convener, Mike Hall, said: “Floral art is always popular in the show - so why not the photographic arts? Many people have a digital or mobile-phone camera and are becoming interested in photography.
“If you are keen, why not enter one or all of the photography categories introduced in this August’s show? The subjects will be: Village Life, Sign of the Times, Water, Pet Portrait and Down the Garden Path.”
Photos should be 5” x 7”, mounted on an A5 card. The £2 entry fee entitles any local person in Deeside to submit up to two entries in each of the photography classes. All are welcome to enter the existing classes.
Submission 6:30-9:30pm on August 22 or 7-9:45am on the morning of the show, Saturday August 23 at the Learney Hall, Torphins. Details from Mike Hall, tel: 013398 82463.
