Almost sixty men from Westhill-based oil and gas contractor Technip ditched their razors during November all in the name of charity.

‘Team Tashnip’ joined thousands of people from across the world in support of Movember.

Across the 30 days, the team raised almost £7,500 while growing moustaches in support of the campaign.

The final total raised was boosted by Technip’s operating centre in Aberdeen, which pledged to match the amount raised, taking the final total to £15,000.

With the support of family, friends, colleagues and the Company’s Healthy Working Lives programme, ‘Team Tashnip’ finished 18th out of more than 30,000 teams in the UK.

Colleagues from throughout Technip also had the chance to vote for their favourite moustache, which was won by Donald Stewart.

Bill Morrice, Managing Director of Technip in the UK, was part of the team and was thrilled to be involved in such an important event.

He said: “We were delighted that so many people from throughout the company were willing to take on the challenge and be part of ‘Team Tashnip’ for what is a very important awareness raising initiative.”

As part of Movember, the company also organised a number of events including a men’s health day.
