Westhill man victim of A90 collision

A leading Westhill scientist has been named as one of two men who died in a car crash on the A90 near Fordoun on Friday.

Dr Stewart Rhind from Westhill and Dr Julian Dawson were travelling back from a meeting in Stirling when the collision happened.

The two men worked at the James Hutton Institute. A spokesperson for the research institute said: “Both were valued and respected colleagues who will be sorely missed.”

In the Press and Journal this morning Dr Rhind’s wife June and daughters Joanna and Sarah said he left them with a “wealth of wonderful memories and shaped their worlds, which will sustain them through the coming days and years”.
