Despite the milder winter this year, it has still felt long to the Logie Coldstone community as none of the usual diversions have been able to take place in the village hall.
The hall was closed when a chunk of plasterwork fell from the ceiling in the middle of a Craft Club meeting just before Christmas.
Although shocked, none of the ladies attending were hurt.
A hall committee spokeman said that since then they have been working hard to get the hall open for business once again but now face having to source grant funding and do major fund raising in order to deal with the “many and various issues which the managers and owners of hundred-year old buildings have to deal with.”
The first fund raiser is a jumble sale in the Victory Hall in Aboyne on Saturday, April 28 from 10am-noon.
This is followed by a duck race in Logie Coldstone on May 6 and a sponsored ascent of Morven on May 27, with a barbecue, and a family fun day on June 23.
