AN application to build an extension to Midmar Primary School was granted at the recent meeting of the Garioch Area Committee.
The application, which was brought before the committee as it was submitted by Aberdeenshire Council’s Leisure and Learning Service, will see a 7.4m x 8.8m extension constructed at the rear of the school, adding to an already existing extension.
The committee were informed that the new addition would have a flat roof matching the previous extension and in the opinion of Planning and Environmental Services “would not detract from the existing building”. Although the new build would be visible to the Glenwood Cottages road to the east of the school it “would not be of detriment to the amenity and character of the surrounding area.”
The application had not generated any letters of representation.
