A combined team from Crathes, Durris and Drumoak Primary schools won the recent Rotary Banchory Area Primary Schools Quiz.

Named the 4 DCDs, the team won a hotly-contested quiz between teams from Banchory Primary and Hill of Banchory schools, as well as the three smaller primaries they represented.

They triumphed by a single point from the Oxymorons from Hill of Banchory, beating also the Clevercookies, the Banchory Beasts, and team TJKA, all of whom were strongly in contention throughout.

Winners Elsa Stutter, Emilie Franks, Sam Horrell and Finn Dearsley will each receive a trophy and go forward to the next round of the North of Scotland Rotary quiz.

Banchory Rotary has thanked all pupils who competed in their schools to make up the teams, teachers, and Banchory Christian Fellowship Church who hosted the event.

Organiser Ken Lennox said: “The teams thoroughly enjoy the competition, and the larger primary schools run knock-out competitions to select their team members.

“All the teams performed well on the day, and had good fun in the process.”
