Thanks to the continued financial support of local businesses, and the people of the Aboyne area they now have four new festive lights to further brighten the main road through the town over the festive season.

“Switched on Aboyne” co-ordinator Mick Mallett said: “Special thanks must go to our local community company, Mid Deeside Ltd who awarded us a grant of £1000 to complement our own fundraising efforts for this.”

Fundraising for the lights continues, and all money collected goes directly towards the purchase of new lighting and upkeep of the infrastructure with collecting boxes placed in local shops in Aboyne.

For more information please go to the Mid Deeside Community Council website www.middeesidecc.org/switched-on-aboyne/.

Over the last two weekends the “Switched on Aboyne” volunteers have erected all the lights in readiness for the switch on planned for Sunday, November 30.
