Following a recent Neighbourhood Watch forum meeting, it was proposd to have regular coffee mornings for residents of Echt and surrounding area to meet, chat and find out what on in the area.
It is free and takes place between 10am and 11am, once monthly. On offer to browse there is a DVD, CD and book swap for all ages (take a book to swap or make a donation). The ladies, offering their time voluntarily, have named it ‘The Echt Blether’.
A children’s activity corner provides something for youngsters to do, whilst posters and leaflets will inform what clubs and groups are on in the area, including forthcoming events. Alford Community Education will provide information and leafets, including Early Years in Donside, Fit’s Gan On and adult classes. A database of e-mail and home addresses for paper mail is being collated and all are welcome to join. There are currently 80 households keeping up to date, which includes any police updates and community council minutes.
