People in the NHS Grampian area are being called on to nominate local health heroes for an accolade at the Scottish Health Awards 2012 before the deadline of Monday 10 September.
Hundreds of nominations have been received from across Scotland but many worthy healthcare teams and professionals are yet to be put forward for an award.
The judges are looking for Scotland’s finest NHS workers and volunteers from across every area of healthcare including therapists, GPs, specialist carers, cleaners and cooks.
This year, there are new categories, including the Integrated Care for Older People Award, Quality Champion of the Year and Leading for Quality Award, making a total of 16 categories.
NHS Grampian Chief Executive, Richard Carey said: “Every day the skill and dedication of our staff makes a difference to people’s lives.
“I urge people to take this opportunity to thank the healthcare professionals who look after them. Make sure you nominate your health hero in time for this year’s awards.”
A specially selected panel of judges will select three finalists in every category.
The finalists will be invited to attend an awards ceremony at Edinburgh Corn Exchange on November 8.
