The Victoria and Albert Halls Ballater will host an Open Day on Saturday October 3 to update the community on refurbishment progress.

The event has been opened up to give community organisations and other agencies an opportunity to consult and inform, and Aberdeenshire Council is using the occasion to display a series of images some of which will be mounted on the hoarding round the Old Ballater Station which was destroyed by fire in May.

Visitors to the Open Day will be able to choose which of the pictures they would like to see.

W ork has been ongoing at Tullich Kirkyard, and Aberdeenshire Council Built Heritage Team will be on hand to provide an update about the kirk and symbol stones.

Among the other organisations participating are the Citizen’s Advice Bureau which holds regular surgeries in the Halls, Ballater (RD) Ltd which operates the Ballater Caravan Park and Ballater Victoria Week Which has recently allocated donations to 18 local organisations.

The Victoria Hall will be open from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Free tea and coffee will be on tap, and the Halls Trust hopes that everyone will pop in to see what’s happening, and to help choose the photos which will be displayed on the hoarding until we get our much-loved station building back again.
