The steering group behind the new community action plan for Banchory has announced open days for the public.

Group members have been sifting through results of the survey which was launched at the beginning of June.

Local people and visitors were encouraged to give their views on what changes and improvements they would like to see in the town for 2020 and beyond.

Steering group chair Mary Lennox told the Piper: “We have now almost finished analysing the results. This has been an interesting if lengthy task as there were around 800 responses to the survey plus responses which came from sessions run in the town’s schools and other groups.

“The next exciting stage is to let the residents of Banchory know what ideas have been suggested and to ask for people’s views on what projects the community should try to put into practice.”

Open days have been arranged as follows: Sunday, September 25, in Banchory Town Hall from noon-5pm; Monday, September 26, also in the town hall from 2-8pm, and Tuesday, September 27, in Hill of Banchory Community Centre from 2-8pm.

Mrs Lennox added: “Anyone with an interest in Banchory is welcome to attend any of these events where there will be displays showing the ideas and opportunities to leave comment.

“The steering group really wants people’s views whether or not they responded to the survey. This is another chance for people to have their say before we move to produce a draft document.”
