The Garioch Partnership is holding a series of community events in order to introduce its recently appointed development worker, Anne Simpson, to the community groups in and around Inverurie and Westhill.
Anne was a community worker in the Garioch area many years ago and says she is delighted to return in her new role.
Chairman of the partnership’s steering group, John Chapman, says: “Now we have our development worker, we are at an exciting time in the development of our partnership and it’s time to let folk know what support we can offer, whether it’s advice on funding, help with action plans, or encouraging new community-led projects, there is something for everyone with an interest in community life.”
The partnership has been established with support from Aberdeenshire Council’s Community Economic Service to develop and engage the many diverse small communities in the Garioch Area, as well as the main towns.
It is hosting four “open evening” events. While invites are on their way to the main community organisations in the area, the events are open to all community members.
Venue and dates are: Monday, October 1 at Insch in the Bennachie Leisure Centre; Thursday; October 4 at Westhill in the Holiday Inn, all 7 for 7.30pm
There will be the opportunity to join the partnership on the night.
Membership is free.
