The opening ceremony of the fishing season on the River Dee has had to be relocated due to emergency repairs to local roads.

The Dee District Salmon Fishery Board has been informed that Potarch Bridge and the alternative approach roads will be closed on February 1 for emergency repairs.

Thankfully, Banchory Lodge Beat and Banchory Lodge Hotel have very kindly offered to host the opening ceremony at the hotel on Monday morning at 10:30am.

Parking will be limited at the Hotel and they are asking people to park their cars in either the Bellfied Car Park in the centre of Banchory, or the King George car park between Bellfield and the playing fields.

While it is only a short signposted walk to the hotel they will be laying on a bus to transport guests to the venue from 10:00am.

Disabled drivers will be given priority to park at the Hotel.
