A young rising star from Banchory has landed a major role in this Aberdeen Performing Arts pantomime at His Majesty’s Theatre.

Eight year old Aedan Dufton will feature in this years production of Peter Pan. He will play Michael Darling, Wendy’s youngest brother.

The Panto will run from late November till early January with Aedan appearing in around half the shows.

The Crathes School pupil told The Piper he was excited for his first big show.

“It’s quite a big part for my first ever panto, I play Michael Darling and I’m hoping my costume will be a onesie, I could wear my own, an a teddy bear too.”

Although this is Aedan’s first panto he does musical theatre with Deeside Dance Theatre and appeared as Prince Ali in there production of Aladdin earlier this year.

Speaking about performing beside Elaine C Smith he said: “She’s a famous actress and my grandad is her number one fan, mum said he was quite jealous when he found out.”

Aedan’s mum Cheryl also told the Piper she was extremely proud of her son.

“We went along thinking it would be a great opportunity for him to practice public speaking and we weren’t really expecting him to get the part so when we found out he did I was over the moon.”
