This year’s Aboyne pantomime will be a production of Dick Whittington, the classic tale of a boy and his cat searching for good fortune.

Running from December 9 to December 13 at the Deeside Theatre on Bridgeview Road, Aboyne’s own theatre group, Upstage Productions, have set a celebrated British tale to contemporary music, with hits by groups as diverse as the Proclaimers and One Direction.

Director, Vick May, said: “We have been at this since the Summer holidays and are now full speed ahead rehearsing three times a week.

“Not only are we lucky to have one of the best theatres in North East Scotland, but we are now an established theatre group. Our budget allows us to provide the most lavish costumes and professional lighting and sound.”

Tickets are available from the Aboyne Community Centre.
