The Scottish SPCA is appealing to animal lovers in the North-east to donate old newspapers to its Aberdeenshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity opened the new centre at Drumoak earlier this month and has already found loving new homes for cats, dogs, rabbits, and other small animals. It also has dedicated puppy and kitten facilities.
Centre Manager Graeme Innes said: “We need a constant supply of papers to use as bedding for our small animals and also to line litter trays for our rabbits and cats.
“Our cattery is full, so we are going through a lot of paper and we’re running really low at the moment.
“We rely on the public to donate their old newspapers so we would be grateful for any amount that people can give to us.”
Anyone wishing to donate newspapers can do so by visiting the centre between 10am and 4pm daily. Would-be pet owners are asked to consider taking on a rescue pet rather than buy from a pet shop or breeder. Call 03000 999 999 for information.
