Over 100 senior citizens from in and around Alford gathered in the village hall to enjoy a party organised by Alford & District Rotary Club.

As they arrived they were greeted by music from Alex Keith of Alford on his accordion who set the tone of the whole afternoon.

President Alastair MacPherson welcomed all those attending and invited everyone to enjoy a meal of stovies and trifle.

The ingredients were donated by McIntosh Donald of Portlethen, Mitchells of Inverurie, Frank’s Fryer and Country Flavours of Alford.

An excellent job of combining these ingredients was done by the staff at Country Flavours and it was served by the members of the Rotary Club and their partners.

The meal was followed by entertainment provided by Neil McArthur, a well known local entertainer and Jake Christie a talented young accordionist.

The afternoon was rounded off with an extensive free raffle, many of the prizes being donated by the senior citizens attending the event.
