Pipe band hopes to drum up more local support

Banchory and District Pipe Band is raising funds to kit out members in full uniform.

The band which has been resurrected after folding some twenty years ago has around twenty members, predominantly from local primary and academy pupils, with a number of adult instructors teaching pipes and drums.

Over the last two years the band has progressed well and can now play at local engagements and is hoping to lead the Banchory Remembrance Parade this year.

Now raising funds for uniforms, they have so far around £3,500 towards their target of £7,000.

The band has been supported by several local businesses, including Bancon Homes, Brian Smith Funeral Services, Skene Enterprise, Inchmarlo House and Bruce McCombie Builders as well as the Banchory British Legion.
