Promoting a safe drive message

A Young Drivers Roadshow is to be held at Banchory’s Bellfield car park between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday, July 3.

This free event has been organised in partnership between Grampian Police and Aberdeenshire Council Community Learning and Development, and is aimed at young people who are relatively new to driving or who will soon be on the roads.

Anyone who would like to go along is welcome to attend on the night.

Free raffle tickets will be on offer on the night, with lots of driving-related prizes, donated by garages and other local businesses, such as a half price MOT or a voucher for a valet. The top prize is a go-karting experience at Lochter where the winner will drive in competition against traffic cops!

Recently-appointed community learning worker Debbie Mackay said: “We really want to encourage as many young people to come along as we can so we make a plea to all local parents to encourage their youngsters to come along and learn more about driving on rural roads.”
