Billy Connolly’s Donside home is up for rent.
The Glasgow-born comedian bought Candacraig House at Strathdon from Body Shop owner Anita Roddick in 1998.
Among the guests who have enjoyed the hospitality of the Big Yin and his wife, Pamela Stephenson, are Sean Connery, Ewan McGregor and many other well-known celebrities.
He is now offering the castle for rental. The advert for Candacraig House reads: “This venue has been frequented by the rich and famous as a private home and is opening as a venue for corporate and leisure bookings.
“Boasting ten bedrooms, meeting, dining and drawing room areas, this venue is truly five-star.
“The staff are discreet and offer the utmost attention to detail - plus it is only one hour’s drive to Aberdeen.”
Connolly is believed to be keeping the castle free for his own use at certain times of the year, including the 171st Lonach Gathering in August.
Among the Connollys’ guests at last year’s event were Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood and Scottish actor and writer Tony Roper.
The 69-year-old and his wife have been regular guests at the gathering as well as the Highland games at Strathdon since they bought the country house for £590,000 fourteen years ago.
They have spent more than £1 million buying neighbouring properties.
