More than £6,000 was raised at Banchory Primary School’s Extravaganza on Saturday (May 14).
The school PTA thanked everyone who helped and supported the fun-packed afternoon of dancing and live music, with many activities and games for all. All the funds raised will be put towards resources for the school.
PTA chairwoman Clare Pritchett said: “We were overwhelmed by the support from the local community and businesses who donated many prizes for the raffle and silent auction, as well as local groups and bands who provided dancing and entertainment throughout the afternoon.
“It is wonderful that we have raised such a substantial amount for the school, as it gives the teachers the opportunity to purchase a variety of equipment and resources. “The Extravaganza is the main fundraising event for Banchory Primary School so we are delighted that everyone got behind us and made the event such a huge success.”
The pupils also put their enterprising skills to the test by making products or activities to sell.
Due to the wet weather which was forecast, organisers moved the event into the school and playgrounds. Entertainment was in the hall and classrooms, and refreshments in the canteen.
