The Primary 2 class from Hill of Banchory School recently visited the Deeside Railway at the Milton of Crathes.

The visit included a talk from Mr Ironside from the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society, a train ride on a diesel engine and a session with Thys the Leys Estate Countryside Ranger which included a nature walk and environmental games.

The P2 class completed a sponsored walk in May along the Deeside Way and used the funds they raised to purchase summer bedding plants from the Raemoir Garden Centre.

In the afternoon the pupils rolled up their sleeves and spent time planting the bedding plants into the pots and planters on the platform.
