Banchory has been given three new handrails on some of its more treacherous roads.

The rails have been placed on the corners of Ramsay Road and Mount Street, Watson Street and Mount Street and Dalvenie Road and Arbeadie Road.

After two years of negotiations with Grampian Council, Banchory Community Council finally managed to get the project to completion this week.

Lorna Barker of Banchory Community Council said: “A friend of mine slipped and fell on the corner of Ramsay Road and Mount Street two winters ago so I felt there had to be something done to help.”

“The public seems to be very pleased with them.”
