A mountain rescue organisation which operates in Deeside and Donside has benefitted from a talk by Scottish adventurer Mark Beaumont.

Mark supported Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team by giving a talk at the Copthorne Hotel recounting his expeditions, which saw him cycle around the world and row across the Arctic.

Some 185 people turned out to attend the talk.

Dawn MacKinnon, chair of Aberdeen & St John Mountain Rescue Association, said: “AMRT are grateful to the Copthorne Hotel for allowing us to host the event, Cotswold Outdoors and Craigdon Mountain Sports for selling tickets and to everyone who helped make the evening a success.

‘‘Thanks also to all those who bought a ticket and helped support AMRT.

‘‘Above all, we would like to thank Mark for agreeing to spend the evening with us and sharing his adventures.”

Following a book signing, Team and Association members had a chance to chat with Mark at the end of the evening.

The next fundraising event will be an anniversary ceilidh on Saturday, November 1.
