Sauchen based Housing Developer, Kirkwood Homes Ltd is hosting a one day public exhibition in the Millbank Village Hall on Tuesday next week ( August 21) 2pm to 8pm to seek feedback on new plans for up to 50 houses and associated infrastructure in Sauchen, on land to the east of Main Street.
A proportion of the proposed site has already been the subject of consultation via the Local Development Plan (LDP) process with 3.5 hectares acres of the site allocated in the Adopted Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan.
Kirkwood Homes in conjunction with Stewart Milne Homes, also held a separate public consultation on previous proposals for the site back in February, and having received feedback from the community and carried out further detailed technical studies, say a new proposal has been developed which will be shown at the public exhibition on Tuesday.
Allan Rae, Land Director at Kirkwood Homes, said: “We were delighted with the turnout at the previous public exhibition and extremely encouraged by the feedback that we received. However, following further technical studies and a review of the feedback from the community, it was necessary to revise the plans for the site. The exhibition to be held on Tuesday will provide the local community with an opportunity to review the changes and comment on the new plans before a planning application is submitted. “
Marianne McGowan, Area Director for Strategic Land, at Stewart Milne Homes said; “We believe that the proposed site to the east of Main St is well placed to provide a sympathetic extension of the village whilst fully respecting and complementing the existing development pattern.
From the previous public exhibition, it was clear that an important local issue is to sustain local services, such as the Primary School, and we believe that the revised plans will fully assist in meeting these objectives.
