Urgent repair work to the access road to Scolty Hill will see the car park at Mains of Auchattie close for part of this week.
The Forestry Commission has advised that the car park, which closed yesterday (Wednesday) will remain shut until tomorrow (Friday).
The closure is to allow for urgent repairs to the access road.
Dan Cadle, for the Commission’s team in the area, said: “We did some harvesting in the area earlier this year which normally would have been fine but, with the addition of heavy rain into the mix, the road sustained some damage.
“We need to get this fixed as soon as we can so that visitors can get to Scolty easily and safely.
“It will cause some inconvenience while the work is being carried out – and we apologise for this – but I think everyone will appreciate the difference once we’re done.”
Scolty Hill is popular with walkers and cyclists owing to its two low level trails and access to General Burnett’s monument at the summit.
The monument provides stunning views across Deeside.
It is hoped that the temporary road closure will not cause too much disruption.
